PRS SE MARK HOLCOMB SVN SIGNATURE, HOLCOMB BURST, ELECTRIC GUITAR, EX DEMO. Excellent condition, no obvious marks or blemishes. Mark Holcomb is one of three guitarists in progressive metal band Periphery, but often, it is he who is responsible for playing the most complex and intricate parts in their songs. In order to keep up with the fast and frenetic nature of Periphery's music, Holcomb therefore needs a guitar that can keep up with the pace. Teaming up with PRS a few years ago, the brand designed Mark a signature SE model optimised for coping with the demands and stresses that come with modern metal music and touring.
And after many requests from fans, Holcomb's popular signature guitar is now available as a 7-string! Keeping many of the key features intact, such as Mark's signature Seymour Duncan Alpha and Omega pickups and the playable "Wide Thin" neck profile; the PRS Holcomb SVN is an instrument that truly belongs in the 21st Century. PRS' SE Mark Holcomb SVN sports a Mahog body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range.Boasting a slightly arched top, a belly cut and a deep lower cutaway; the PRS Holcomb signature model offers a comfortable feel that allows you to play without hindrance in either sitting or standing positions. Joining the body is a bright-sounding Maple neck carved to PRS' contemporary "Wide Thin" profile. While the material adds plenty of top-end snap to give notes more immediacy, the unique neck carve provides an incredibly modern feel, especially in conjunction with the large frets and flat fingerboard radius.
Holcomb's standard 6-string model features a 25.5" scale length, but this 7-string version has a longer 26.5" scale to increase tension for the lowest string; keeping it sounding tight and well-intonated. Although Mark Holcomb's signature guitar may be a part of a the affordable SE line, PRS spared no expense when it came to the instrument's hardware and electronics. The PRS Plate Style bridge keeps things solid, with its beautifully-machined design offering a comfy feel that keeps your right-hand comfortable when playing intense palm-muted riffs. At the other end of the guitar you'll find a set of PRS-designed tuners that'll keep your tuning super-stable too. The PRS SE Mark Holcomb is equipped with a set of Mark's signature Seymour Duncan Alpha/Omega pickups.
Emitting plenty of output, these immensely powerful humbuckers can cope with thick doses of high-gain yet remain focused and clear, even on the 7th string. However, they're not one-trick ponies! Via the push-pull tone control, you can split the humbuckers to attain glassy single-coil sounds that are perfect for ambient cleans. Neck Wood: Maple (with Satin Finish).
Fretboard Wood: Ebony with White Binding. Truss Rod Cover: Mark Holcomb. Larger pictures available on request. Sensible offers will be considered.
