Made as an artist model for Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith, this Jackson Adrian Smith SDXM has all the features one would need in a classic super Strat format. This guitar has a maple neck and fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, Jackson branded tuners. The neck shape is a pleasantly slim C shape, it's wider than a vintage Strat, more in the line of a modern Fender Strat. The fingerboard has a compound 12 to 16 inch radius which makes for easy chording near the nut and a flatter feel as you go up the neck to facilitate soloing. The basswood body is finished in snow white, and the black scratchplate loaded with one humbucker and two single coil pickups, a five way selector switch, volume and tone controls, all topped off with a Floyd Rose special double locking trem system. You will note that the trem system is not recessed which is preferred by some as it allows the trem to be set so it's flat on the body if so desired. This way the trem arm can only be pushed downwards, which means that should you break a string the whole guitar will not go out of tune. The trem is currently set floating so it has the ability to pull upwards to some degree to allow nice vibrato with the bar.

Tuning stability is excellent even under extreme use. While not an actual DiMarzio, it is powerful and clear sounding while still having good midrange and solid bass.

The single coil pickups are also surprisingly good, and have a classic, chimey tone, just what one would expect from a Strat type guitar. The guitar was bought less than three months ago and is practically new and in immaculate condition as far as I can tell.

I haven't really played it since I bought it, but other factors now require its sale. It was professionally set up by Lowell at Noden Guitars in West Drayton, is currently strung with 8-38 gauge strings and has a low action.

If you want to play chunky riffs, shredding solos, or play bluesy to crystal clean, this guitar can cover a wide range of styles and sounds. Comes with gig bag, Schaller Strap Locks and strap.
