6 String Gear4Music Neck Cigar Box Tin Can Canjo Piezo Electric Acoustic Guitar

For Sale I have a 6 String Full Size Cigar Box Tin Can Canjo Piezo Electric Acoustic Guitar, made using a large M&S Shortbread Biscuit Tin, an electric guitar neck and a number of guitar parts. The overall length of the guitar is 37 inches and as a scale length of 25.5 inches, as is the standard for most, if not all Strat and Tele style electric guitars. The tin is a standard M&S Shortbread tin found during Christmas hence the Reindeer motif. The is a decent size for this type of guitar at 11 inches in length, 8 inches wide and 2.5 inches in depth. The size of the tin gives the guitar a nice deep tone with plenty of resonance and sustain even when played acoustically.

The neck is from an Gear4Music Strat style guitar and is made of Maple and the fretboard is Rosewood and features 21 frets. The neck is equipped with a standard set of 6 inline closed machine heads and a pair of string trees.

The neck is mounted on a 1 inch thick length of pine which runs the length of the tin and is secure. I have used the same length of pine for bass guitar builds and they are holding together beautifully. For some Gear4Music guitars get some bad press from players, but I got to say the neck I got on this feels beautiful and plays wonderfully. If it was a bad neck I wouldn't of used it, at least not for this, I have ever projects just for bad old necks. The tin is equipped with a standard top loading 6 string hardtail bridge, which is secured to the same length of pine that the neck is mounted on.

On the inside of the tin I have glued and mounted a pair of 25mm piezo disc pickups on the underside of the tin lid between the bridge and the neck. The piezos are wired into a standard A500k volume pot and a standard guitar jack socket, both also mounted on the neck of the tin. It is possible to remove the lid of the tin with everything still mounted and fully strung but loosening the strings with a capo on the neck and half unscrewing the bridge. I designed it like this for easy maintenance if and when needed.

The guitar is strung with a set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings with gauges of 10,13,17,26,36,46 as is standard for a set of medium light strings or 10's as they are known. Thank you for reading this far and happy shopping.
