6 String 24 fret Swift Neck Cigar Box Tin Canjo Piezo Electric Acoustic Guitar

For Sale I have a 6 String Full Size Cigar Box Tin Can Canjo Piezo Electric Acoustic Guitar, made using a small Felix Cat Treats Tin, an electric guitar neck and a number of guitar parts. The overall length of the guitar is 35 inches and as a scale length of 25.5 inches, as is the standard for most, if not all Strat and Tele style electric guitars. The tin is a rather unusual Felix Cat Treats tin from a few Christmases ago, my cats enjoyed them.

The tin is top loading and the lid is located at the top where the neck meets the body and is accessible only by removing the neck, which can be achieved without removing the strings, or bridge by use of a capo on the strings. The tin is not very large by is decently deep at 7 inches long, 6 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Despite the size, the depth of the tin gives the guitar a rather nice resonant tone and decent volume whilst played acoustically.

The neck is from a Swift electric guitar is full sized at 25.5 inches in scale. The neck is made of Maple and the fretboard is Rosewood and features 24 frets the neck is equipped with a standard set closed 3 a side machine heads and features a Floyd Rose locking nut, I have never seen a Swift guitar but I assume it was for metal and had a Floyd Rose style bridge.

The neck is mounted on a 1 inch thick length of pine which runs the length of the tin and is secure. I have used the same length of pine for bass guitar builds and they are holding together beautifully.

The tin is equipped with a standard top loading 6 string hardtail bridge, which is secured to the same length of pine that the neck is mounted on. On the inside of the tin I have glued and mounted a pair of 25mm piezo disc pickups on the underside of the tin lid between the bridge and the neck. The piezos are wired directly into a standard guitar jack socket, both are mounted on the length of pine inside of the tin and the jack as pictured is mounted on the underside of the tin, due to the lack of space on the top of the tin and for comfortable playing. The guitar is strung with a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings with gauges of 9,11,16,24w, 32,42 as is standard for a set of light strings or 9's as they are known.

Thank you for reading this far and happy shopping.
